Mixed Results in the W&D Finals

There were mixed fortunes for Heathfield's representatives in the Wimbledon & District Bowling Association finals held at Wandilea BC on Saturday, 7th September.

In the morning session, Simon Squires & Mike Naylor won the Men's Pairs final beating Russell Miller & Harry Halford (Southey) 20-2 after just 10 ends.

In the afternoon, Heathfield's bowlers suffered two narrow defeats. Babs Payne was beaten 19-21 in the Ladies' Championship by Dace Clark (Southey) - Dace winning the title for the third year in a row. In the 60+ Singles, Mike Naylor lost 17-21 to Don Leach (Belmont). Mike's other final, the Mixed Singles against Griff Jenkins (Wandilea), was held over and will now be played on a date yet to be announced.
